Blue Highlights?

I really want to get sky blue highlights but sadly *sniff* I have black hair because of my Asian heritage... I've seen they people who have reddish-brownish hair; they dyed it turquoise and it just looked...awful...because it wasn't a solid color. So I don't want my hair like that, I just want solid sky blue highlights...

Another girl I've also seen a girl that had black hair with highlights that were not transparent and I just fell in love with that look since then... But my pesk of a friend keeps saying that my hair was too dark and blah blah blah...

So really, what I'm asking is if there is a product that will give great results? Or would a salon have that solid color?

Sky blue highlights are beautiful in dark hair! And its not impossible for you to have them.

Your friend is right, your hair is probably too dark to acheive the color that you're looking for right now. You'll have to go to a stylist and and have the areas where you want the highlights bleached. And I don't mean, just turn them blonde, you'll have to bleach them WHITE ... which means you're going to have white highlights for about a week. If you just bleach them blonde, the blue will probably turn out green. :(

Because you're doing such extensive bleaching, you are going to have to wait a week or two before you put the blue dye in your hair. During that time; moisturize, moisturize, MOISTURIZE!! Take care of your hair. You don't want to ruin your beautiful highlights by making them all dry and icky. You might want to have the dead ends trimmed off before you add the blue, also.

After the week or two has passed, go back to your salon and your stylist can dye the bleached parts sky blue. You'll probably want to go to a larger salon, because sometimes smaller ones don't have exotic colors. Make sure they have the color you want, and if not, you can buy the permanent dye in a beauty supply store ... just make sure that its the kind for professionals only and let a professional do it!

Good luck.

Its impossible realli to always have blue highlights after a couple of washes it will fade and become light blue, because you can only get blue dye in semi-permanent

If i were you i would ask a stylist because what looks really good on one person can look really bad on another.

Blue Highlights?

You should go to a salon to have it done. It is a multistep process and its pretty hard on your hair. First they have to strip your natural color out completely then they have to dye it the color you want. Like I said, its pretty harsh on your hair and you might end up damaging it if you try it yourself. Also, those kinds of colors tend to fade so be prepared to have it touched up and wear a hat or scarf over your hair if you are out in bright sunlight.

Go for it. I have dark dark brown hair almost black and i put red and blond highlights in my hair and I love it!!

I think you should get the highlights, yes some people don`t look good but you never know if your one of those people until you try.
